If we had 109 people step up to donate roughly $23/month, ALL of our expenses would be covered. Yes, vet bills, rat care supplies, operating expenses, EVERYTHING!
In our 2nd year, we spent over $30,000 helping rats in need. We had to scramble for emergencies, and work incredibly hard to keep up. We’re hoping that for our 3rd year, we can stay ahead of the game with some more reliable support from you wonderful people.
You can also subscribe to a Monthly Mystery Boggle Box for your ratties for this same $23/month (or donate one to our foster rats or another rescue to double your impact). Thanks to the generosity of small businesses & crafting volunteers, you get a box PACKED with high quality, mostly handmade products. There is a seasonal subscription option, and other sizes available as well.
If you can’t commit to $23/month, remember every dollar adds up! So many more beautiful stories of healing and love can unfold with your support. We couldn’t do it without you.

Fosters need to:
We have been contacted about 4 rats who will be euthanized on THIS FRIDAY July 28 if they do not find a place to stay. We're urgently looking for new foster homes who can take them in. This is these rats' last chance, but we can't save them without your help!
We need 3+ foster homes in order to accept these rats. There are 3 females & a male. The females may be pregnant as they were housed with the male.
To become a foster, you would need to:
To foster one of the females, there are a couple more requirements in case of emergency due to the pregnancy risk:
Please don’t comment that you will submit an application. When people comment this, others think help is no longer needed. Yet AT LEAST 50% of the time, people do not follow through.
Reach out ASAP if you can foster any of these guys!
Submit a Foster Application on our website.
If you can’t foster, please consider donating. It always helps, as do supplies like hides & lava ledges.

Rat enrichment doesn’t have to be expensive! You can make rat toys out of things you find around the house! Repurposing items you have around the house is great for the environment, your wallet and a fun, creative family activity. As they’re intelligent animals, variety in enrichment is incredibly important for rats happiness and well-being. There are plenty of ideas out on the internet, but here are a few DIY rat toy ideas to get you started!
*Do ensure that all repurpose items are rat safe; nothing that has had harsh chemicals used on it or abrasive surfaces etc.
