Important announcement on PARTIAL CLOSURE.
Hello wonderful supporters and friends. It is hard to share this very real, very sad news. Like many other rescues, we are sadly having to consider closing our doors permanently. After a lot of creative energy having been put into problem-solving over recent months, we’ve decided to put a partial closure in place. This is effective as of now (October 2024) and could progress into a gradual closure of all services. Please read on below for more details on what this looks like. |

Right now, many of our volunteers are drained of capacity and simply cannot keep up. This is the case for our finances, our available time, and emotional capacities. This work is burning us out in many ways. Over the next year our presence will be very limited and we will be taking time to reflect on our learnings, abilities, and the community’s needs. This is not necessarily good-bye yet. Our hope is to find a sustainable way for our work to continue, or live on in a reimagined way.
We need your help and support now more than ever before. Not only to stay open, but to provide for the sanctuary rats who will remain in our care, and for ongoing costs, such as for our website and data management. By signing up for a mystery box subscription, becoming a monthly donor, or providing any monetary support you’ll be supporting the care of our sanctuary rats and helping to give us a chance at fully reopening one day.
