Age: ~ 3 months Sex: Female Here since: August 28/2021 Roommates: mother: Annalise, and sister: Hollis From: Kingston Humane Society (KHS)
Dozer's mom, Annalise was one of the 50+ rats found discarded in a recycling bin on a hiking trail. The wonderful Kingston Humane Society took them in. Some of these rats were pregnant and 50+ soon turned into 140+! The KHS ran out of adopters in the area, and they quickly found themselves overwhelmed, so reached out and began distributing the rats to other rescues across Ontario. Dozer's mom was one of the pregnant girls in the recycling bin.
Dozer is a beautiful, shy, and curious girl. She gets along well with her mom and sister and "rarely sits unless eating." The 3 of them will have to be adopted together. She can also jump! And we mean, jump! Whether she is a bit freaked out, just enjoys the challenge, or hasn't quite figured out what the free-roam area is meant for yet, little Dozer can clear the boundaries with one leap. Their foster is working on keeping her occupied and comfortable in the free-roam area, but she may come to enjoy shoulder-rat life too!
You should also check out @rylansrats on Instagram who is doing an amazing job at fostering these beautiful girls! They post frequent photos and videos. We’ll update as we get to know her more, but we do know that Dozer will be a blast for her new family to have around!
